James “Jim” Walter Whyatt

NORMAN — James “Jim” Walter Whyatt, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away suddenly. Born April 26, 1958 in Fukuoka, Japan where his father was stationed at the time, his early childhood was spent in Pennsylvania. The Whyatt family moved to Midwest City when Jimmy was in elementary school, and then to Norman where he attended West Mid High, and Norman High graduating with Honors in 1976. He most recently held the position of Inside Sales Manager for TAPS manufacturing in Norman for five years

Jim is survived by his son, David; daughter-in-law, Amy; grandchildren Miah, Benjamin, Daniel, Jacob and Caleb; brothers: John, Patrick and Christopher; sisters: Jill, Joan, Mary, Susan, Kathy and Margaret; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John L. and Mary “Betty” E. Whyatt. Jim had a great zeal for life and people, and will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at Wildwood Community Church in Norman.
