Walter Skip Benton

Walter "Skip" Benton Walter “Skip” Thomas Benton, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024, with his family by his side. Skip was born on April 23, 1958, in Washington D. C. He was a man of faith and was involved in ministry his entire life, continuing into his recent years at University Park where he would hold Bible study groups with his fellow residents. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and camping, and was proud to have been his sons’ Little League Coach in his earlier years. Skip loved watching baseball and football, and especially liked cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Chiefs. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Aubrey (Dan) Kruse, James Benton, Andy Benton, Emily Benton, and Josh (Lauren) Benton; the mother of his children, Kirsten Benton; his beloved grandchildren, Saray Kruse, Elyse Kruse, Jackson Benton, and Gabriel Benton; his step-father, Steve Ashour Omrani; his siblings, Christopher Benton and Melia Shuman; and many other extended family and friends. Skip was preceded in death by his mother, Beth Omrani; and his brother, Charles “Chip” Benton. There will be a celebration of life at Hickory Grove Park, 67464 250th Street, Colo, IA 50056 on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com

Susie O'Dell (Skaggs)

I didn't become acquainted with Skip until I launched this website.   We had some fun conversations and some serious ones, also.  He was a thoughtful man with a great sense of humor.  My prayers for his family.
