I shared an art class with Mike our junior year.  Mrs. Calkins could be temperamental, but Mike always had a way of putting a bright spin on everything.   I enjoyed getting to know Mike that year and was touched by his firm faith and artistic talent.

I don't even remember how Mike and I met, but we became really good friends.  We spent almost every lunch period playing cards in the cafeteria.  We shared the same quirky sense of humor, and we could spend hours laughing and joking.  Pretty juvenile stuff looking back, but we thought we were hilarious.

Mike was one of the people I really wanted to see when I came back for the 10 year reunion, but he wasn't there, and there was no internet bqck then to track people down.  Man, Mike, I always thought I'd see you one more time again - or at least I'd hoped we'd meet up again.  Rest in peace, buddy.
