A NOTE FROM YOUR WEB ADMINISTRATOR

Most of you that come to this site will not remember me. I was just another student in a class of 650+.  I haven't been to a class reunion since our 10th and I wanted to reconnect with some of my friends from the days of our youth.   I setup an account on Classmates.com but with the costs, the ads and the openness, I was leary of sharing my information.  Facebook was a nice tool, but it is becoming too large, unpredictable and unsafe to connect with others.  My philosphy of data protection is in direct contrast to the creator of Facebook.

I thought about creating this site from scratch, but quickly realized that the ego involved in an action like that outweighed the goal of pulling everyone back together for the long term.  I wanted a site that could be easily maintained by anyone with common sense and the willingness to take over should I no longer be around or able to maintain it.  I spent quite a bit of time researching and comparing content management systems before selecting the current system.  My attraction to this particular system was the stability of the company as well as their product's flexibility, features (current and planned) and backup processes (on and offsite).  I went to work on creating the pages and enlisted Karla Keller and Becky Pence to add all of the names of the students in our graduating class.   Richard Davis, Susan Houck and Suzan Nuckles scanned in and cropped the class pictures which I then loaded up to the student profiles.   So, as you can see it was a team effort to create the data for the preliminary student profiles.

With this site, you may restrict your information from the public and from search engines (See FAQ & NEW MEMBERS).   You may even protect it so that only the web administrators have access to your information.  I have locked down all of the pages, so no trolling is allowed by casual observers.  You will have to sign in to access any of our information, other than the list of classmates.

Any new members will be sent an email with some questions for you to verify your identity.  Once you are verified, you will have all of the rights and access of your fellow classmates. This is for your protection and for ours as we will eventually have a page for our class reunion where payments can optionally be taken over the web (if you prefer).

I have enjoyed the rewards of reconnecting with some of my friends in the last few years and in becoming friends with acquaintances and a few that I had never really known in school.   It was with this goal in mind that I created this web site and starting planning a 35th reunion.    Nothing altruistic in my motives, just pure selfishness!

So, please come in.  You are welcome here.  I am looking forward to seeing the ones I know and in getting to know many others.  To get started - report to the MOD CHECK!!!

Blessings to all,
